Designer Showhouse at the Stewart Parker House

The 221-year old Stewart Parker House in Georgetown was transformed by twelve designers into an exciting showcase of interior design. We chose to decorate an upstairs bedroom, which has four large windows with a beautiful view of the harbor. We arrived to white walls, some peeling paint, and heavy shutters on the windows. We designed our room around the theme “Summer in the South, with a Hint of Chinoiserie”. I have a love hate relationship with technology, but since social media has become mainstream, the outlets for creative, art and craft junkies, such as Pinterest, Olioboard, Houzz and various Blogs are endless.  It is so easy to lose track of time repining great home design ideas, recipes, kid’s stuff, inspiring quotes and fabulous fashion!  Who has the time to actually create or do any of these cool things?   I’m hoping some of my Pinterest pins will inspire you to do something new this holiday season with your home.  Here [...]

Blues Are Back!

  This year we saw navy hit fashion magazines in a big way. Lots of Chanel inspired sailor striped shirts and dresses were everywhere. The clothes were mixed with brightly colored accessories in shades of aqua, coral reds and yellows. Now we are seeing blues come back with a vengeance in interiors.
